Try one of these activities and see what happens:

PreSchool English Language Devleopment:   Tell a story to your preschool and let him tell it back to you. He can even make up a new one using the same characters.

First Grade Reading: Using post it notes, write one letter of the alphabet on each note. Put them around the living room and ask your child to go find the T, then the R, how about an a. Change to sounds. Find the letter that makes an "mmm" sounds. Words on post its work too.

Third Grade Math: When grocery shopping have your child add up the cost of the groceries. Let him keep a running tally on a piece of paper. He can also check the sales prices to see if they're really as good as they claim.

Fifth Grade Science: When you're making cookies have your child try mixing oil and water together. What happens? Why don't they mix?

Eighth Grade Social Studies: Have your child write you a letter, but you pick the time he's writing from. Ask for a letter from a Rebel in the Civil War. Where is he? What's happening? Why? What's the fighting about? When is he coming home?
