How to Be An EdSuccessful School

| | El Dorado County Preschool and Kindergarten teachers started their year off with another of their joint meetings. In this one the two groups worked on determining a vision for children in El DoradoCounty. Working together the staffs from all programs in the County developed a vision board which included children laughing and learning, families enjoying themselves, and picutres of graduation and life in their futures. The conversations around the vision board development helped teachers recognize that, though they may be in different programs and funded from different sources, they are still working for the same successes for children. As usual when we talk about how to help children become successful, there are those who lean toward social and emotional development and those who are more on the academic wave length. The discussions for this year in El Dorado focus on how to do both. Our littlest students need a good deal of nurturing and attention. They are also fully capable of learning the basics of language, reading and counting at the same time. The trick is to make the two happen with ease and fun. Good teachers do that well. The teachers in El Dorado County are not only good at what they do, they are making this happen as a team. Congratulations El Dorado County PreSchool and Kindergarten on a job well done.
